Storyline:
In San Diego, Sarah Landon is invited by her grandmother's friend, Thelma Shaw, to spend the weekend with her in Pine Valley, California. Sarah used to spend vacations there during her childhood with her recently-deceased friend Megan. While heading to Pine Valley, her car breaks down and Carlos, the mechanic, calls his assistant, Matt Baker, to give her a ride. Sarah knows Matt from her childhood and asks about his older brother, David. Meanwhile Carlos tells a sad story about their uncle, Ben Woods. He apparently used to brag about his only son, Johnny, considered by Ben to be the best baseball player in the Valley. On his twenty-first birthday, Ben's sister Mary Ann Baker decided to celebrate with Johnny but she had a car accident and the teenager died. Ben promised to kill David Baker on his twenty-first birthday and he dies on the day of Johnny's funeral. Over the years...

I'm so surprised by some of the negative reviews for this flick. Oh well, to each their own. My girls 11 and 13 loved it. We were scared, jumped in our seats and then giggled because of our reactions. Some of the acting looked like beginners, but seemed to get better as the flick when on. I think the child actors were the strongest and the storyline was great! Perfect family movie for the Halloween season. Even though I think the "brother actors" could have used some more acting classes, I have to agree with my girls...they were "hot"! And I hope that the one reviewer is wrong about the cast staying "unknown", I hope the children stay with their acting. They were great!

I guess I like an underdog. This movie was produced by a family that owns furniture stores as opposed to the usual Hollywood crowd. Yes, there was some acting that was a bit sub-par, but not as bad as in some of the old slasher movies and certainly not as bad as these reviews would lead you to believe. And yes, the story was pretty lightweight. But, that being said, I view this like living room music. It is a thrill to see what amateurs can do. And the fact is, considering the source, this is fairly slick.

Ok, let's be honest. This is not going to win any awards. The acting is somewhat iffy (outright horrible by Ben Woods, the uncle who dies but appears again.. but luckily he doesn't speak much because he's that bad!) and the story is sometimes a little weak BUT the kids loved it and it does what it is supposed to do which is entertain kids who don't really want to see something too scary but like a little fright. My kids want to see it again, even though the jumped out of their seats a couple times and covered their eyes! I'd recomend it to any moms who want to take kids to a decent movie for halloween.

I took my "tween" to see this and we both enjoyed it. It was a good old fashioend scary movie, NO CURSING, NO BLOOD, NO GORE. A pleasant change from the usual "kid" fare that was entertaining for adults and older children. Anyone with a 10 or above chiild will be able to sit through this and actually enjoy it.

My kids loved this movie. I defiantly recommend it especially since its rated PG but still fun and scary enough for the younger ones. You'll have a good time too.
